In this photo, I am standing on my head. It's wonderful to be able to stand on my head, get the blood flowing in the opposite direction.
Once, one of my yoga instructor reminded us that some people never invert their entire lives. Inversion is fun though. There is a feeling of control over the body, being able to flip up and then float back down.
Yoga is close to the martial arts, closer than most people realize. Control of the body, control in the environment, awareness, mastery over the breath, these are things that yoga and martial arts have in common. Being calm under pressure and with pain. Understanding how the body fits in space, and, of course, the art of it, the work towards a more perfect understanding as a journey, rather than a destination.
