I am often accused of telling people about my performances at the last minute. This is totally accurate. So today, in an effort to be a little less last minute about things, I am telling you about my performance with Dr. Sketchys a full two weeks in advance! Did I just blow your mind? Me, telling people what I'm doing in a timely manner? Who would have ever thought. . .
Anyway, I'm going to be at Dr. Sketchys on the 21st. It's a good time, drinks are included in the ticket price, and it's great fun for artists and people who just like to draw.
Yesterday, I got a letter from my friend Jack, who is currently in basic training. He seemed like he really, really wanted letters from friends so I sent him a letter this morning. Today, I wrote him another (longer) letter which I will put in the mail this weekend.
If you have ever been in basic training, or know someone who has, do you have any advice about what I should send? I've looked online and there isn't a lot of information. I don't want to do anything to embarass Jack or to get him in any kind of trouble. Of course, I understand common sense, I am sending letters to his workplace so I shouldn't send anything I wouldn't send to any other workplace, but if you have been in basic training and you have any thoughts or advice on what you would have like to have gotten, or how often is good to send letters, please let me know. I want to support Jack in any way I can.
