Day Seventy Five: To Be There

Day Seventy Five: To Be There

I wanted to take a picture to show you what it's like to be backstage at a burlesque show. It's a unique experience, seeing the construction of these women, the makeup, the hair, the underclothes. There is also a sense of discovery - these women play characters on stage, but backstage they are different, though far from mundane. These women talk about jobs doing everything from dog grooming to sculpture. Most of the women have partners; husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends. I have never been in a group since I went to Quaker meeting where so many people were focused on charity, fund raising for cancer survivors and dog rescue and other fund raising projects.

I think I can safely say that I didn't capture what I wanted, but I made a start.
