I always love to hear what people like the best. It's interesting to me to hear how tastes differ - my favorites don't always match with what other people like and it's great to hear about it - it's a wonderful guide for me as I take portraits for others!

There is a huge development in your work from the first day to now. Beyond technical mastery or clarity of vision, I noticed something really interesting about your newest work that I don't see in the earlier things.

In your earlier work, all your self-portraits seem very...posed. Not staged, exactly, but "modeled". It looks like a proper photo.

In your later stuff, there's a naturalness (I almost want to say an "awkwardness") about the photo. It looks as though the photographer snapped the shot off while the figures were in the middle of doing something else.

The thing is: they don't look like they were in the middle of posing for a photo. They look like they were in the middle of killing someone, comforting someone, contemplating the universe, and then "SNAP!".

Very, very interesting.

I totally agree with you - this project has done wonders for my technical knowledge and my visual creativity. I haven't thought about the modeling side of it, but you're right, my modeling has gotten smoother too - which is good, because most of my business is portraits, and it's good to know how to tell people how to look their best on camera - knowledge that can really only come from experience.
