Friday, April 18th, Philadelphia Tattoo Convention

This Friday, April 18th, I will be modeling with the Hellcat Girls at the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention.

I'm going to be modeling corsets from Delicious Corsets, a really wonderful shop in Philadelphia that sells high quality handmade corsets. I am seriously considering getting one made for me for my wedding.

This is very exciting for me because, as some of you may have noticed, I have kind of a thing for corsetry.

Corsets

Yeah, just a little bit. . .

It's weird, because growing up, I was told almost every day that I was ugly. Now I'm modeling. It's odd, how the world turns.

I may just be a real life ugly duckling story. Apparently I was troll-like in high school. I have no idea. I can't evaluate my own appearance for love or money.

You should come over to my studio in May and we should do a shoot.

Ma'am,

I cannot imagine a world where someone could find you anything less than stunning. I may be biased by the fact that I see you in the lovely photos I do.

I also can't imagine telling anyone they are ugly. Everyone has something beautiful in them. Just some of us have a harder time showing it. To call someone ugly is in itself an ugly act.

I think this may reveal me to be a squishy artist type, but I think you are right - I think that everyone has something beautiful about them. When I'm walking around my neighborhood, I often catch myself looking at people and thinking about how beautiful they are.

I remember a little while ago I saw this beautiful pregant woman wearing this light blue top that just floated around her - she looked like a fairy queen. I had went up to her and told her how pretty she looked in her top. She was so sweet! I hope I look like her if I ever get pregnant.

Maybe I'm just in a good looking neighborhood!

Irony, party of lots... your table is now ready.

Funny how all the girls that were told they were ugly growing up are the ones that we all chase after when we're older.

I feel like this should be something that they write somewhere over the entrance to the middle school :

"DON'T MAKE FUN OF THE UGLY WEIRD CHICKS. IN A FEW SHORT YEARS, THESE VERY CHICKS WILL BE HELLA HOT. THEY WILL NOT DATE YOU IF YOU HAVE BEEN AN ASSHOLE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."

Maybe they should make sixth grader boys write that in study hall. Over and over and over.

One of my great joys in life is being mean to dudes that were mean to me in high school. Now, they try to ask me out. Now, I remind them they were jerks to me.

I only date geeks. Well, I used to only date geeks. Now, I only date Jared Axelrod. Who is a geek. Among other things.

I just can't imagine anyone seeing you as ugly. Not anyone who really looked, anyway.

I mean, I'm sure I haven't seen you at your ugliest, but I've seen you in class when you were obviously feeling crappy, didn't really want to be there, and probably didn't give much of a fuck what anyone else thought you looked like. And even then, puffy-faced and stringy-haired, miserable and dressed in your favorite shapeless comfy clothes, you were heartbreakingly beautiful.

Just sayin'.

You're a sweetheart.

mmmm. . .I get very happy thinking about my comfy shapeless clothes.

Jared's favorite article of my clothing is this giant sweater I've had since middle school. He calls it the "cuddle sweater" because it is so comfy. He tells me it's sexy because I move differently when I'm wearing it.

Do you have any new photo projects coming up? Keep me updated!

Not a sweetheart. I kinda had a little crush on that Mae chick then (don't take it too personally; I had crushes every couple of hours in that part of my life).

Erin still thinks it's weird that I find her sexy in her big shapeless sweatshirt, hiking socks and flannel drawstring "happy pants." What can I say; nesting instinct is a very sexy thing!

No photo projects on the docket right now. Writing at the moment (a screenplay revision of Green). I'll have something to share with you one of these days.
